JIŘÍ KORYNTA
Music has accompanied PFO conductor Jiří Korynta since his very early childhood. His family environment and great talent naturally directed him to the path of a versatile musician. He studied trumpet, violin and viola at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. He simultaneously studied percussion and conducting at the Prague Conservatory. He even crowned the expansion of the portfolio of practically controlled instruments in 15 years with a Guinness world record, which reached a total of 34 instruments.
As a versatile instrumentalist, during his career he worked in various groups, including big bands, wind orchestras, chamber orchestras, quintets. After that, he followed up in particular as a tympanist several engagements in leading Czech orchestras (Plzen Philharmonic, Czech Philharmonic, FOK).
The combination of the knowledge of all the instruments in the orchestra and the many valuable advices I received from my professors allowed him to start his own orchestra with the intention of interpreting film music in concert.
The Prague Film Orchestra is a symphonic ensemble, founded by conductor Jiří Korynta and Zdenka Koryntová in 2004, which throughout its existence has specialized in concert performance of film, serial, musical, popular and video game music.
